Life with two preschoolers keeps me on my toes! Always changing, always messy and always, always lots of love.

And baby b...

We got a picture of him right away at the first ultrasound, the one where Sammy had to hold my hand and keep me calm.

He is 24 weeks and 1 1/2 pounds in this picture. He's also in breech and spooning against his brother.

I've got another kind of surprise for you: There's 2 in there.

Here's Baby A. He is known as Baby A because he is lower in the womb and will be the first one to give birth. We didn't get a good picture of his face until the high-level ultrasound earlier this month. Here he is 28 weeks and 2 pounds, 6 ounces. He is in stargazer breech position.

Happy Moments

It's a beautiful day. The sun is shining, and the sky is blue! We did some walking and some swinging and some time at the park.

But my happiest moment today? Spent sitting on the floor next to the toilet, where my (very stubborn) 2-year-old was going potty.

For months, we've been talking about the potty, singing about the potty and sitting on the potty. He is stubbornly set against it, clinging to his diaper with the passion only a 2-year-old can muster about an inanimate object.

So when he ran downstairs today holding his Buzz Lightyear underwear and dancing around singing "Potty, Momma!" I jumped up with gusto!

We sat there for a while. Just sat. But we'll take every small victory we can get for now! :)

'You're my rainbow'

I brought Adriyanna clean paper for her to color on last night.

Blank paper. That's all.

She ran over to me, wrapped her little arms around my neck and said, "Momma, did you bring paper for ME? You're the best. You're my rainbow."

And that's reason No. 1,992,452 why I love being a mom.

A not-so-silent stand-off

Jay is obsessed with nudity. This weekend when were going to go swimming at the club, he stripped off his clothes in the family locker room and refused to put on his swimsuit.

Auntie Amy and Adriyanna scurried off to enjoy swimming while he and I stayed inside the bathroom in a not-so-silent stand-off.

He yelled, "I MAD. NO SWIMSUIT," while I calmly told him no swimsuit meant no swimming.

"I SWIM NAKED," he rebutted, standing firm in his stance.

Once again, I calmly informed him we would not be swimming until he put on a suit. We sat in the locker room for about 20 minutes for he walked over to me, swimsuit in hand, and raised his white flag.

"OK," he said.

I'm so much better at this motherhood thing the second time around :)

The photo says it all, I think

Learning! AKA Positive Redirection of Energy :)

We bought Adriyanna some books to help her solidify her letters and the sounds they make before we start teaching her to read. It was the best $8 we ever spent. She loves learning—she soaks it up—and it takes all that extra energy she has and puts it toward something productive. It's amazing how bright and intelligent she is and how quickly she learns. I have so much pride watching her as she runs to the fridge to put the latest sticker on the most recent letter she mastered. My sweet girl.

We did quickly realize Jay needs something to learn during Adriyanna's letter sessions. He wants to learn, too. Tabitha was mentioning how smart he was at patterns. I can't wait to sit and teach him more. My little lovebug.

My shopping partner

One of my favorite things is watching Adriyanna grow up and become her own person. She has opinions and thoughts and feelings.. and personality. She loooooves to shop, and on those occasions when her and I get a chance to go out the two of us, it is SO fun! Last weekend, we had a chance to peruse some purses :)
