I love this picture

From when he was a few weeks old... he LOVED to snooze on the pillow from Auntie Katie. And check out that island nose!

Me and my grandpa....

Big Jay and Little Jay take a snooze together....

And Miss Adriyanna spent a whole WEEK with grandpa before her little brother was born (to give mommy a little break) so they got really close this summer. These are only SOME of the activities they did together...

Like checking out the monkeys at the zoo...

And riding a "Big truck" like Grandpa at the Ionia Free Fair!! (After grandma got her on the ride with a friend)

And going for a dip at the pool!

Arriving Home

Adriyanna was fascinated by her little brother (albeit a little jealous that she was no longer the baby. see picture in swing, ha!), but she was ready and willing to take good care of him, feed him his bottle, change his diaper and terrorize him in general!

"Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful Boy"

~By John Lennon~

"Close your eyes, have no fear. The monster's gone, he's on the run, and your daddy's here..

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep

Say a little prayer

Every day it's getting better and better

Out on the ocean... sailing away... I can hardly wait to see you come of age

But I guess we'll both just have to be patient...

Yes it's a long way to go, but in the meantime, before you cross the street, take my hand.

Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy...."

Sleepy Time

Papa and Little Jay's favorite thing to do together... snooze.

Have you ever seen a more beautiful face? I mean, honestly...

"Papa, why are you sleeping? I'm wide awake!" And no, she didn't stick her finger in an electric outlet. That's just wild island hair in the morning!

These two aren't related or anything....

Weighing in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces, Little Jay Kauloloa Tesimu came into the world on July 5, 2007 after hours of labor-inducing medication and then finally, a fairly easy labor. His grandpa Jay and papa welcomed him into the world with smiles, video cameras and text messages. Ah, the age of technology. Auntie Amy, Grandma & Sarah all waited impatiently in the waiting room. And me? I heard that sweet, quiet little cry and I knew I was already in love...
"Where are the boobies?" Jay wonders as he is held by Auntie Amy. "And quit calling me a yoga condom head. You're hurting my feelings." Ha, looking a little squidgy as newborns do, mommy still thought he was beautiful and is even moreso now that he is my little fattie!

Tired but happy, he cuddles up to mama with Sarah. He looks just like Adriyanna. But with a penis!
Papa always has the magic touch that rocks the babies to sleep. Look at those matching island noses. And oh man, Lake Forest Hospital provide some sweet rooms.

My beautiful son and gorgeous wife. Am stayed on the couch with me to keep me and Jay company. We all bonded during those first 48 hours in the hospital, which I remember this time, unlike with Adriyanna. Jay slept snuggled up to my chest and dropped 7 ounces those first two days, but gained it right back later on. He passed his hearing test, all his health tests and was sent home on Saturday in perfect condition.

Godmother and godson form a special bond...

Just after Little Jay was born, his Auntie Amanda came to stay with us. Besides helping me like crazy (thank you, so much!) Amanda got to bond with her new godson. Because of timing/new jobs/busy schedules, Jay won't be baptized until Christmas, but they already formed their attachment to each other. Adriyanna also fell in love with Amanda, who was born to be a mom, and knew her name right away. We went to the park, to the mall, and Amanda helped me drive the kids up to Michigan to spend some time with my family. I loved having her and can't wait to visit her and Shane in South Carolina!

Dinner with papa... and balloons!

On the night of her birthday, papa came home and surprised us with presents (a pretty new outfit that she's wearing) and The Little Mermaid, which is now one of her favorite movies! She asks to watch it all the time. "Fishies in the water, shark, boat, bird and mermaid" are all a big part of her vocabulary. He also took us out to dinner, where she got "fries to eat" and "ba-oons!!!!" She was thrilled when the people at Applebees sang to her, but the balloons were definitely the best part. She was absolutely full of giggles and could barely contain herself. We had to hide them before she went to bed, she was so besider herself over the balloons. But some special time with papa all to herself was the best part..of course we all missed Baby Jay, but she needed some special birthday time alone!

Chocolate Powder Face!

September 11, 2007

Miss Adriyanna and I made a chocolate cake together for her birthday. I even let her crack the eggs and pour the butter into the bowl, stirring it up and tasting the chocolate... although I think the brown color turned her off, because she kept saying "ewwwwww." She was covered in chocolate powder and covered in smiles once we were done.

I buckled Little Jay into his bouncy seat so he could join us in the kitchen. Adriyanna loves her little brother.. kisses to go around!
